We continue to strive to decrease the environmental impact of our building. Past projects include work to seal the vapour barrier, installation of high efficiency lighting, automated heating control, use of recycled products, and recycling. We also now capture rooftop rainwater so that tenants can water any plants they may keep on the rooftop deck.
We also encourage freecycling. Tenants who no longer need furniture or belongings are encouraged to leave the items in our foyer for two days to see if anyone in the building might want them. The items almost always get taken, thus reducing trips to the landfill. For office furniture or building construction materials Pelican Properties uses freecycle.org.
