Mall renovations accent heritage of Drinkle3

Drinkle Mall is step back in time and one of Saskatoon’s best-kept secrets. New customers are typically amazed to discover the music, vintage photos, and many interesting shops. Shops include Back Then and Again Antique Jewelery with its 12-foot ceilings that feature antique crystal chandeliers from the Royal York hotel in Toronto. Visitors to Sova Millinery can watch as the owner works to make hats sought across Canada, created from fabrics personally handpicked from Parisian markets. Visitors to Atlantis 2000 can peruse a wide variety of new age products and crystals, or schedule a reading or healing in the attached 100-year old bank vault. Drinkle Mall visitors can have their precision watches repaired by one of Western Canada’s last master watch repairmen, or sit down on the many stools of Sceptre Coin and Stamp to talk coins and stamps, politics, or Tai Chi. The mall also includes a master goldsmith, tailor and dressmaker’s shop, hair salon, flamenco dance studio, Indian dance and yoga studio, Filipino confectionery, and the Filipino Consulate.

Our Shops

exhibitOur Photo Exhibit: J.C. Drinkle: Boom to Bust
Our mall includes an extensive permanent photo exhibit about the builder J. C. Drinkle, which is often featured in walking heritage tours of Saskatoon. The exhibit was made possible in 2007 by a Cultural Capitals grant, through the City of Saskatoon and thanks to Heritage Canada. The exhibit is available to be viewed during business hours in the downstairs mall.

Come See our Renovations

We have recently completed renovations that include a new stairway, tile floor and new carpeting throughout. Our stairway landing includes an inlaid “Drinkle No. 3 Building” logo which was replicated by an artist based on photos of the original storefront window in the building in 1913. The slate and ivory-coloured tile floor is modeled after the floor of the old MacMillan Building, built on the site of the first Drinkle building which was destroyed by fire in 1925.

Commercial Space Now Available at Drinkle Mall

Now available is a single 600-square foot retail space beginning June 1, 2015 in our downtown lower-level shopping mall. The space rents for $620 gross per month (including utilities, taxes, etc. – we even change your bulbs), plus GST. The space has retail windows looking onto the mall and is currently occupied by Flashback Vintage Clothing. The mall is a Saskatoon gem and is ideal for destination specialty shops. The spaces typically have large retail windows looking onto the mall.

LIVE WHERE YOU WORK
An elevator is the only commute for our several commercial tenants who also live in the upstairs apartments.
